NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE — THE LINGUISTIC PROCESSOR FOR THE ROMANIAN LANGUAGE

The Linguistic Processor for the Romanian language is the result of over 10 years of experience in the field of computational linguistics of The Open Informational Systems Analysis and Synthesis Institute. The Linguistic Processor is a complex tool for linguistic analysis (phonetic, morphologic, syntactic, phonetic, stylistic, and semantic), provided with specific statistic functions for each type of processing. This project has evolved into a Multilingual Linguistic Processor.

The elaboration of analysis—programming technologies has been based on theories and theoretical models obtained as a result of the institute’s policy to contact and collaborate with specialists, research institutes and universities on the matter of algorithms, formal languages, computational linguistics and logic, cybernetics, psychology, law and economics.

The Linguistic Processor for the Romanian Language is one of the first tools in the world that makes the access to any kind of information (moral, juridical, professional, scientific, cultural) possible by controlling the Romanian language at the grammatical and semantic level. Romania will participate to the circulation of information through the electronic media, the scientific success registered in the development of the processor allowing:

information systematization by summarizing and intelligently synthesizing the electronic information, by sensing the right message through the semantic analysis;
the graphical representation of the relevant concepts from a document or a series of documents;
the achievement of a social interface by releasing the user from the rigid computer norms and clearing the way for the free communication in a natural language.

The Linguistic Processor is the software engine allowing the production of derived software products such as: the automated grammar corrector, the automated translator and translation assistant for any language, tools for text analysis and search, tools for information indexing and classification, tools for texts automated summarizing, natural language interfacing tools and tools for vocal synthesis and identification.

Starting from these technological grounds, the linguistic processor may assist the deep understanding of information and knowledge, allowing:

The preservation of cultural and linguistic identity in the context of globalization;
Romania’s integration in the international electronic information flux;
The correct expression of the national and international values and policies;
The easement of communication with international organizations;
More opportunities in the education field.

Romaniawill become an electronic media partner, the software application using two aspects of language technology: the mediation between different languages and the interpretation of one language, in the same time offering a superior decision base to the public administration, to companies but also to any interested person.

Moreover, the Linguistic Processor plays a strategic role in the new digital society, giving access to the e-government, e-commerce, e-business, e-work, e-job, e-learning and also to virtual companies and communities.
